While one icon celebrates its 80th anniversary, another returns after a long absence. This year Jeep Wrangler marks its 80th year, while the Ford Bronco returns to the streets of Mission. Both Jeep Wrangler vs. Ford Bronco are geared for off-road action as well as Edinburg commutes, but how do they compare? Join Burns Motors in taking a look at these off-road legends side-by-side.

Wrangler vs. Bronco: Performance Specs

Both Jeep Wrangler vs. Ford Bronco feature robust 4×4 systems as one of their biggest selling points. These vehicles are made to handle rock-crawling as easily as they handle errand-running. While the new Ford Bronco offers only one engine option, the Jeep Wrangler comes with two choices in conventional gas engines. They both generate more horsepower than the Ford Bronco option. The Jeep Wrangler also offers the choice transmissions for a more interactive driving experience.

Wrangler vs. Bronco: Fuel Options

If you’re navigating the trails beyond Pharr, you don’t want to cut the fun short because you’re low on fuel. The Jeep Wrangler offers a larger fuel capacity than the Ford Bronco. Also, for 2021 the Jeep Wrangler enters the alternative fuel market with the Jeep Wrangler 4xE, a plug-in hybrid. The Bronco only has a conventional gasoline engine.

Wrangler vs. Bronco: Size

The Ford Bronco is larger than the Jeep Wrangler but only offers seating for one more passenger than the Jeep Wrangler. While the Bronco might offer more cargo space, part of the Wrangler’s appeal is its compact, squared profile that’s designed for rock-crawling.
