Beginning July 23, 2009 and running through August 31, 2009 Chrysler is offering $3,500 to $4,500 in rebates or  0% interest and 72 month financing on most New 2009 models for all customers who qualify for the cash for clunkers program.  The Cash for Clunkers program is valid until November 1, 2009 or until the allotted money is gone whichever comes first.

1.  Is my vehicle eligible?

The CARS Act establishes four criteria for eligible trade-in vehicles

1. The trade-in vehicle must be in drivable condition.
2. The trade-in vehicle must have been continuously insured, in accordance with State law, and registered in the same owner’s name for the one-year period immediately prior to the trade in.
3. The trade-in vehicle must have been manufactured not earlier than 25 years before the date of trade in 4 and, in the case of a category 3 vehicle, must also have been manufactured not later than model year 2001.
4. In the case of a passenger automobile, category 1 truck, and category 2 truck, as those terms are defined in the Act, the vehicle must have a combined fuel economy value of 18 miles per gallon or less.5 (These truck categories are explained below.) Vehicles that do not meet all four criteria are not eligible to be traded in under the CARS program.

2. How much will I get for my vehicle?

• If your vehicle is a passenger vehicle and the vehicle you are buying has a combined MPG that is between 4 – 9 mpg better you will get $3,500.
• If the new vehicle has a combined MPG that is greater than 10 mpg better you will get $4,500.
• If your vehicle is a SUV with a gross vehicle weight under 10,000 lbs, a Pickup with a gross vehicle weight under 8,500 lbs and a wheelbase less than 115 inches, or if your vehicle is a passenger van or cargo van with gross vehicle weight under 8,500 lbs and a wheelbase less 124 inch and the vehicle you are buying gets between 2 to 5 mpg better you will get $3,500 and if it is more than 5 mpg better you will get $4,500.
• If your vehicle is a pickup truck or van with a gross vehicle weight under 8,500 lbs and the wheel base for the truck is over 115 inches, or the van over 124 inches, and the new vehicle your buying has a combined MPG of at least 1 mpg better you qualify for $3,500 and if it gets at least 2 mpg or better you will get $4,500.
• If your vehicle is a truck or cargo van that has a gross vehicle weight between 8,500 and 10,000 lbs. you will qualify for $3,500 as long as you are buying a new vehicle that is similar in size or smaller.

3. What if my vehicle is worth more than the $3,500 or $4,500 that Cash for Clunkers is giving me, how will I get more for my trade?

• If your vehicle qualifies for the Cash for Clunkers program and you decide to take the voucher the vehicle will be destroyed and you will not get anymore for the vehicle other than a small amount for the salvage price.
• If your vehicle is worth more that the voucher amount you would be much better off to trade your vehicle in with us and take the appraisal price.
